Crash after Uninstalling McAfee

If you’ve recently uninstalled McAfee antivirus software, or installed another solution on a machine previously running McAfee, your LiveStorage application may crash when performing one of the following actions:

  • Opening the Sales Scheme Editor
  • Navigating to the Parts List
  • Shutting down LiveStorage
  • Saving a Design File
McAfee manages how applications access certain system files needed by LiveStorage (specifically jbscript.dll). When the program is uninstalled, it does not properly revert certain registry keys back to the Windows OS, and so LiveStorage crashes when the program attempts to call the redirected dll.
McAfee provides a Consumer Products Removal Tool that will cleanup any remaining files from the removed antivirus software and revert all redirected registry keys back to the Windows operating system. The tool can be download and run fromĀ HERE.
