Transfer LiveStorage to New Computer

LiveStorage can be registered on a single computer per license. Once LiveStorage is registered on a computer, it becomes “finger printed” to that machine. Important Note: Once a license has been transferred, it will no longer work on the previously registered machine. Certain custom items and settings can be transferred to the new computer by copying files from the previous machine to the same location on the new one.

These files are located in the following directories:

  • Inventory: C:\Documents\LiveStorage\Inventory
  • Custom Items: C:\Documents\LiveStorage\Custom Library
  • Sales Schemes: C:\ProgramData\LiveStorage **Important: Only copy the files with .scheme on the end of them. Transferring any other files from this directory to the new computer will cause program/licensing issues **The ProgramData folder may be hidden. To “unhide” it open file explorer by clicking on the yellow folder with blue bracket on the task bar,  then   click on the View Tab and check the boxes next to “Show file extensions” and “Hidden items”. (Windows 10) You can find out how to do this on other Versions of windows by doing a google search.
  • Saved Designs: The file location for saved designs varies for every user. If unsure of location search your computer for .lsf files.
  • Default settings and Hot Keys will need to be setup again.

Follow the steps below to Transfer license to new machine.
