When exporting an order in LiveStorage, sometimes Excel will launch, but the Parts List is not pasted into the spreadsheet. There are generally two scenarios that can cause this.
- Excel is blocking the macros in the order form and requires user interaction to enable the macros.
- When the Export Button is selected, LiveStorage copies the components from the Parts List into the Copy/Paste buffer, and then launches Excel. If certain COM Add-Ins are enabled, this buffer is cleared when Excel is launched. A temporary work-around is to launch a blank Excel Spreadsheet and then do the export from LiveStorage.
We have found that the “Send to Bluetooth” COM Add-In is a common one that causes this issue. Most users do not need this add-in, and the recommendation is to remove it from Excel. (Feb 2015: Avery COM Add-In also exhibits this behavior)
– Right-Click on the Excel Shortcut and choose Run as Administrator
– Choose File – Options – Add-Ins and select COM Add-Ins from the drop down menu at the bottom of the window. Select Go…
– Under Add-Ins Available, choose Send to Bluetooth and click Remove
